Kenya Karinga AA

A bright, refreshing coffee with a classic Kenyan profile, Karinga AA sparkles with juicy notes of blackberry, red currant, dark plum, and an agave-like sweetness. Its vibrant acidity and light body make it an especially beautiful pour over and a perfect coffee for summer.

Karinga Factory is a farmer-owned washing station located in the red volcanic soils of Kenya’s Kiambu County. Smallholder farmers from the GITWE cooperative deliver ripe coffee cherries grown from traditional Kenyan varieties alongside newer, more resilient hybrids. The cherries are floated and depulped before fermenting in cement tanks for 16 to 18 hours. The coffee is then thoroughly washed and dried on raised beds for approximately two weeks.

This year’s production was offered through the Nairobi Coffee Exchange, where it was cupped and selected by our partners at Red Fox Coffee Merchants entirely for its exceptional flavor. One taste and it is easy to understand why; the sweet notes of dark plum, red currant, and blackberries are enhanced with agave richness. We could not be more delighted to welcome this vibrant Kenyan coffee to our summer lineup.
