Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Aricha Adorsi
Introducing Ethiopia Aricha Adorsi, a bright washed coffee grown by smallholder farmers in the highlands of Yirgacheffe. At elevations of 1,900 to 2,100 meters, fertile soils and a rich diversity of coffee varieties provide the foundation for an expressive cup. Farmers deliver their harvests to the Adorsi washing station, established in 2000 and later restored by Faysel Abdosh, founder of Testi Specialty Coffee. Raised in a coffee farming family, Faysel has continued to invest in the station and surrounding community.
At Adorsi, small lots of ripe coffee cherries are combined, carefully sorted, and depulped before fermenting in tanks for up to 48 hours. The coffee is then thoroughly washed and dried on raised beds. This attentive processing highlights Yirgacheffe’s signature floral aromatics and layered fruit sweetness, allowing the character of the region’s Krume, Wolisho, and landrace varieties to shine.
Washed Yirgacheffe holds a special place for our green buyer Alex, whose first experience with coffee from this region revealed just how complex and diverse a cup could be. Aricha Adorsi brings that sense of discovery to our lineup with a smooth, medium body, crisp brightness, and a pleasing finish. It is a lovely choice for a morning pour over or filter brew, and equally refreshing served as cold brew or a flash chilled pour over.
