Grown in the rich volcanic soils of Kenya’s Nyeri region and nurtured with pristine water from the Gatomboya stream, this exceptional lot is brought to us by the Barichu Farmers Cooperative, a group of 600 smallholder producers committed to quality and care.
At the Gatomboya Factory, cherries are picked at peak ripeness, sorted for density, fermented for 16–24 hours, washed in fresh river water, and slowly dried on raised beds over the course of three weeks. The result? A clean, complex cup that shines with floral elegance, juicy citrus notes, and sparkling acidity. Our new Head Roaster has helped us to nail this profile, and we are getting incredible notes of champagne, pineapple, brown sugar, and lemon.
This is a perfect summer coffee — beautifully bright whether brewed hot or served over ice.
