Decaf drinkers, this one’s for you! We’re thrilled to introduce our first anaerobic decaf coffee, for those of you who drink coffee for the flavor only. Gracie, our Green Coffee Buyer, tasted this in a blind cupping while visiting Colombia in the summer of 2024, and even she was shocked to learn it was a decaf!
Grown in Acevedo, Huila, Colombia, by Brayan, a passionate coffee farmer and member of the 2024 Forest Coffee producer group, this decaf is a true standout. (Read more about Brayan <<HERE>>)The cherries undergo a meticulous 120-hour anaerobic fermentation in a pulp made from cherry and dehydrated passion fruit. This innovative process infuses the beans with vibrant, fruity flavors.
After fermentation, the beans are decaffeinated using the sugarcane method. This process employs ethyl acetate, a naturally occurring compound in sugarcane, to gently remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s rich flavor.
The result? A cup bursting with passion fruit notes, hints of brown spices, and a touch of chocolate. Smooth, vibrant, and caffeine-free, Yellow Sunset Decaf is perfect for savoring any time of day—or maybe even all day. Say goodbye to the caffeine jitters!

I NEVER DRANK DECAF COFFEE UNTIL SNOWY OWL ROASTED EJE CAFETERO That coffee was a beautifully different decaf grown in Colombia and decaffeinated using sugarcane. one year later SO brings us YELLOW SUNSET DECAF What’s different? Anaerobic fermentation with passionfruit pulp! Open the bag and you will swoon from the perfume of tropic fruits mixed with deep rich coffee. The taste is as unique as the process of fermentation with hints of sugarcane used in its decaffeination. It is like a rich and pure vanilla citrus syrup added to a highly extracted coffee. Did I reference musk and bergamot? ENCHANTING beyond your IMAGINATION!
I love this coffee because I can drink it at anytime and not any coffee jitters it the best coffee in afternoon coffee and it tastes great I highly recommend this coffee

This decaf is unlike any other I have ever tasted. Tons of bright flavors! I could drink this decaf every day and never get sick of it!

I tried the Sunset decaf - it's still decaf- no flavor at all.
We are sorry to learn this did not meet your expectations. One thing we have learned about this coffee is that it should be consumed within 1-2 weeks of the roast date. The amazing flavors we describe in the product page start to diminish with time. Since you took the time to write this, we would love to send you a freshly roasted bag of this coffee - just be sure to drink it shortly after you get it!
